The Paper work

Forms to be completed before the Ceremony are:
1. Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) Along with sighting of original copies of below, (31 days min) before ceremony.
·        Birth Certificate
·        Divorce Papers
·        Foreign Passport (if born OS)
 

2. Form 14 Declarations - Stat. Dec.
 
The Ceremony
The ceremony must include, as a minimum the following; (Include these words plus anything else you would like)

Introduction
"My name is Shantele Tait, I am duly authorised by law to solemnise this marriage"

Monitum
“(Bride Name and groom Name), before you are joined in marriage in my presence and the presence of these witnesses I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter.  Marriage according to law in Australia is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others voluntarily entered into for life”

Vows
“I call upon the persons present to witness that I,
(Name), take you (spouse name), to be my lawful wedded (wife/husband…)”
 The bride and groom both must say this as a minimum

After the Wedding Ceremony
Certificate of Marriage Requires two Witnesses 18+
